How it works

Bring your list
A picking list, an order or your product file. One row becomes one label, or as many as the quantity column says.

Say where to start
Choose your label size and, if the sheet is part used, which label to start at. Nothing above that point is printed on.

Check the fit, then print
Print the numbered test sheet on plain paper first. Hold it against a real sheet, nudge if your printer is out, then print for real.
What it does not do
- No carrier is involved. An address label here carries no postage and no tracking, because that needs an account with the carrier.
- An SSCC needs the GS1 company prefix issued to you. This tool will not invent one, because an invented number belongs to somebody else.
- One row produces at most a thousand labels. A quantity larger than that is capped, because a browser laying out more is no longer laying out a sheet of labels.
- Printers vary by a millimetre or two. Print the test sheet before committing a box of labels; nothing in a browser can guarantee registration.
Questions
Can I start halfway down a sheet I have already used?
Yes, and it is the reason this exists. Say which label to start at and the ones above it are left untouched, so a sheet with six peeled off is still worth fifteen. The numbered test sheet doubles as the key: print it once and you can read the position straight off it.
Will the barcodes actually scan?
They are encoded to the standards rather than drawn to look right: Code 128 with its checksum, EAN-13 and UPC-A with their parity and check digit, and GS1-128 with the separators the standard requires. A thirteen-digit code whose check digit is wrong is refused rather than printed, because a barcode that scans as a different product is worse than one that does not scan. Print the test sheet and scan one before a long run: bar width depends on your printer as much as on us.
What is an SSCC and do I need one?
It is the eighteen-digit serial that names one physical box or pallet, and retailers ask for it on inbound deliveries so a scan at the door matches the despatch advice. You need it if a customer has asked for it. It is built from the GS1 company prefix issued to you, an extension digit you choose and a serial that counts up, and every box gets its own. Keep a note of where a run finished: reusing a serial makes two pallets look like one.
My labels print a few millimetres out. What do I change?
Two things, in order. First check the print dialogue says actual size and not fit to page or shrink to fit, which quietly rescales everything and is the usual cause. Then use the nudge: move the whole grid right or down by the amount you measured, and print the test sheet again. The grid is centred on the page by default, which is right for most sheets and adjustable where it is not.
Does my product list leave my computer?
No. The file is read in your browser, the barcodes are drawn in your browser, and the printable page is built in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and every part of it still works.
When every box needs one
